1980’s Schecter Strategy MIJ Superstrat Electric Guitar JAPAN w/ HSC

Up for sale is a killer early 80’s shredtastic Schecter Strategy superstrat style electric guitar in VG+ condition and perfect working order. We just gave it a pro set up with a set of 9-42 gauge strings so it plays amazingly with a straight neck, low action and accurate intonation. The original trio of single coil pickups sound great and have tons of warmth, clarity and spank. With one volume knob and two tone knobs, it’s mirrors the classic Strat control layout but then has its own on/off mini-toggle for each pickup.

Cosmetically, this instrument is really clean and has been well taken care of over the years. That said, it does have some mild cosmetic wear such as: there’s some tiny dings scattered around, a small finish crack at the neck joint, swirl marks and light scratches in the clear coat from handling and cleaning. The most noticeable issue is the color fade on the top. This guitar started its life with a hot pink finish and the top has faded to a peach like color over the years. The back and sides retain more of the original pink. The original frets only have the slightest hint of wear on frets 1-3, mostly under the plain strings. This is our first encounter with a Schecter Strategy. This is a pre-serial number example which were made in Japan in the late 70’s and early 80’s according to our research . To the best of our knowledge, this instrument appears to be all original but we’re not 100% sure of that. Maybe someone removed the bridge pickup cover? Maybe the bridge pickup isn’t original? We’re just not sure. And as a result, it‘s sold “As-Described”. Comes with a nice Road Runner hybrid hard case. It’s missing the trem arm. The guitar weighs 9lbs 9.4oz. The nut width is 1.695”. The neck thickness is .845” at the 1st fret and .885” at the 12th fret.
