Amethyst Guitars are handbuilt by luthier Landon DeHetre in Oak Park, Michigan. This particular Pyrus model has a two piece black limba body. The neck is African mahogany, reinforced with a dual action truss rod and two full length carbon fiber rods. The fingerboard is ziricote, with abalone dot inlays. The neck profile is on the thicker side. This instrument features Gotoh tuning keys, a Gotoh featherweight tailpiece, and a TonePros bridge. The electronics are unique, featuring a filtertron style neck pickup and a PAF style bridge pickup. The controls are wired for neck pickup volume, neck pickup bass roll-off, bridge pickup volume, and a master tone control.
