For sale is a vintage and original 1979 version 1b ProCo Big Box Rat distortion effects pedal. This pedal features the pot labeled "Tone" rather than "Filter", this is an extremely early Rat.
This unit works perfectly, and sounds great. It is in fair condition with typical cosmetic wear from use. There are extra holes in the sides and back of the enclosure but these are cosmetic issues only. The back metal is a bit bent out of shape, but again, this is cosmetic only.
The electronics are all original and this sounds incredible. It is a totally different pedal than modern Rats. This pedal has the original, vintage Motorola LM308N IC. The IC and pots date production to 1979. The screws are not original. Everything else is stock and the original tone is all there.
This is a player's grade pedal that looks well-rocked but functional perfectly. The pots are clean and the switch is springy.
