Wildwoodians, we have here a bass that will lead you in the summer to the bass parade: the Limited Edition Mikey Way Jazz Bass. As bass player for the newly-reunited emo/pop-punk powerhouse My Chemical Romance, Mikey Way has laid down the low end on some truly classic recordings (hot take: Welcome to the Black Parade is the mid-aughts' Bohemian Rhapsody), so it was only a matter of time before our friends at Fender honored him with an awesome signature Jazz Bass.
And what a Jazz Bass it is! It looks sharp with its sparkle finish and black block inlays, and it's an absolute joy to play. The two '70s Vintage-Style J-bass pickups have all the growl, bite, and thump you'll ever need, and they can handle a wide variety of genres. The Wildwood Bass Department rarely reaches a consensus on anything, but we all love this neck, a vintage-style '70s that's skinny down low and nice and chunky up high with a uber-slim 1.5" nut width for maximum comfort. Thoguh the neck may draw vintage inspiration, it's throughly modern-feeling thanks to its 9.5" radius and medium jumbo frets, a combination well-suited to the demands of the discerning purveyor of low frequencies.
