Yamaki Performer

1970s Made In Japan Les Paul Custom Replica

Very rare model in excellent condition

Recently Serviced and Set Up

Neck true and rod adjustable

Frets about 50 worn with plenty of life

No major dings, no gouges or significant wear on the fretboard

The finish I think is a matt-looking nitro. Headstock has some age fade it.

Clean and ready to go

This is the first one of these I've seen. I'm selling for band-mate who has barely used it since buying about 5 years ago (he's our drummer). If I had the cash spare, I'd add it to my collection as its such a rare model, with great wood and a beautiful burst finish.

I've had a lot of Greco's, Orville By Gibsons, Tokai's etc. over the years and this is very impressive in terms of build quality, weight and tonewood. Its very heavy, resonant wood with great tone; thick mahogany 2-piece-sandwich body and 3 Piece Neck. The only thing the manufacturer appeared to skimp on is the block inlays, which aren't mother of pearl.

At some point the stock parts were replaced. I can't find enough Google info on Yakami's to know if the originals were high end or not. I don't have the original parts. Ranting messages about this (and I've had a few already, bless 'em) will be ignored. If, however, you can provide me with 50 year ownership history of the guitar + time machine so I can go back and fetch them - I'm all ears...

Pickups: ToneRider AC4s. Decent set of all-rounder pickups, they sound nice but could be upgraded to preference.

Tuners: Grover Locking (106 Rotomatics I think) with long posts and 'auto-locking'. Most likely way better than the stock originals.

Bridge and Tailpiece: Unbranded Tune-O-Matic

Electrics: All replaced; 500k pots, Orange Drop Caps, switch upgraded

Priced based on what I can find around and other MIJ guitars of this build quality.

Hard case included.

Shipping costs include insurance.

Collection welcome from North Leeds.
