About This Listing

Summary: The Foto Flame Series was made by Fender Japan through the 1990’s. The “Foto Flame” series was a short-lived attempt by Fender to compete with a growing “flame top” market. The “Foto Flame” is a thin piece of photographic film of some very highly figured wood laminated to the guitar. The neck also has the “Foto Flame” on the back of the neck. This Stratocaster has an Alder body with a Basswood cap and a few vintage style appointments the include vintage style tuning keys and tremolo system. Body: Alder with a Basswood cap, Foto Flame finish. Neck: Maple with a Rosewood fingerboard, 25.5” scale length, 1.6” nut width, 21 frets, white dot inlays. Pickups/Hardware: Three single coil pickups, vintage style tuning keys and tremolo system, pearl pickguard, master volume/2x tone controls/5-way pickup selector. Cosmetics: This guitar has surface scratches and a few dents and dings (See Photos Please). There is a bigger dent in the finish near the output jack. The saddles have started to tarnish, and the pickguard has regular wear. Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out. Weight: 7.665 lbs. Case: This guitar ships in a Fender hard-shell case, professionally packaged, and fully insured.
