RKS Dark Star II Black Open-Hollow Body Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have an RKS Dark Star II, a unique open-hollow body electric guitar in Black finish. Built in the USA this guitar features a body consisting of hollow Tenite shells, a 22 fret Ebony fingerboard, Sperzel locking tuners, along with a pair of RKS humbuckers, wired to roller master volume & tone controls, and a 5-way blade switch.

The neck plays well, its satin finish and comfortable 'C' shape feeling easy and fluid in the hand, certainly a profile that the vast majority of players will get along with. Dual cutaways and a tapered neck heel give unobstructed access to the upper register, while the unique open body design feels particularly ergonomic in finding areas to rest the right hand, while also feeling exceptionally responsive.

The RKS humbuckers sound thick and full, with a rich, warm low end, a tight and punchy midrange, along with clear, biting highs, cutting through the mix well without sounding overly harsh. The 5-position blade switch offers split coil tones in the in-between positions, giving excellent versatility. Overall a really robust feeling guitar with brilliant playability and a really unique feel.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates some light denting around the truss rod cavity. The metallic parts of the front face show light scratching.

Neck: Overall excellent condition, all aspects of the neck demonstrate very light markings.

Body: Overall very good condition, all aspects of the body demonstrate light scratching, visible under direct light at certain angles.

Condition of Frets:

The frets show light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any future work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod Condition: Fully functional & can be adjusted

Hardware Condition: Fully functional with light signs of wear, One saddle has a chip which does not affect functionality. The saddles demonstrate light oxidation.

Structural Condition: No concerns or issues to note

Height of the string from the 12th Fret- Treble 1.5mm - Bass 2mm

The saddles are bottomed out with no further reduction in the action available. The action is what would be considered "Factory standard" for an electric guitar and is very comfortable to play.
