Asturias guitars is a workshop of handcraft guitars with the highest reputation in quality of its products. The workshop is located in Kurume city of Kyushu island (Japan) and has nowadays 15 highly skilled craftsman from all over the nation. They are building high end classical guitars.
The quantity of their production is limited to a small number of handbuilt instruments since they started in 1962.
This guitar is the model 500 and was built in the by master luthier M. Matano in the 80's. It is the highest model. It has the best materials. Nice Rosewood back and sides and a fine spruce top. Asturias is well known for only using high quality wood material which has been dryed and matured over many years.
It has 656 mm scale length and 52 mm nut width.
It is a beautiful instrument in a nice condition (just one repaired top crack) and it plays very nicely.
The guitar has a very charming sound and is very similar to those instruments of Kohno and Sakurai.
