Fender Parallel Universe II Maverick Dorado Ultraburst, ebony fingerboard
The Maverick model has only been in production for a short time and was produced between 1969 and 1970.
Fender then had a surplus of parts and then built this special Maverick model. Fender had made a guitar like no other on the market. It consisted of a modified Electric XII body and electronics, 4-way selector knob, Mustang tremolo bridge, ebony fingerboard with binding and blocks, and the iconic hockey stick headstock.
After that it became a cult classic.
Now after decades of obscurity, the Maverick is alive again with a series of upgrades.
The Parallel Universe II Maverick Dorado has a very fine 60's profile neck with ebony fingerboard.
Two Tim Shaw's Filter'Tron inspired humbucking pickups are built in.
They display the legendary power and twang of pickups normally found on hollow body instruments, with the benefit of added bite and clarity.
The Maverick Dorado also has simple controls consisting of a master volume, tone and three-way toggle switch. Like other guitars equipped with Filter'Trons, the Maverick is equipped with a Bigsby B50 tremolo system for expressive playing options.
