Great for adding balance to a Strat with lighter gauge strings, our Duo-Sonics use flat poles to create a smooth sounding single coil tone.

The Antiquity for Duo Sonic pickup set delivers the clear, smooth tone that made these guitars so well loved. We build them with vintage correct construction, complete with the proper size pole pieces that extend slightly through the baseplate. The flat pole pattern also helps to give you the nice, even string balance that is so characteristic of the Duo-Sonic, and is great for both chording and fingerstyle playing. Use as a replacement for your original Duo-Sonic or to add mojo to a modern one. Hand built in our Custom Shop, the Antiquity for Duo Sonic uses untumbled alnico 2 rod magnets, a custom coil wind with heavy formvar wire, cloth push-back lead wire, and each pickup is lacquered and wax potted.

From Seymour: I've always liked pickups on a Duo-Sonic® because of their clarity and smooth tone. The neck pickups are wound "top going" with a North magnetic polarity. The bridge pickups are wound "top coming" with a South magnetic polarity. When used in combination with each other, the two will be hum-canceling. The pole pieces are flush with the top and slightly protruding from the bottom. They are specially hand-wound and come with mounting screws. Hookup wire is the classic "push back" cloth braid wire.
