This awesome vintage, hollowbody bass has a great feel and sound! This rare bass was made by Mosrite as a signature model for Joe Maphis and features a Spruce top and walnut body.
The juxtaposition of the extra-wide body with its slim, narrow neck makes this instrument stand out, with the beautiful, distinct curves of Mosrite’s 60’s design aesthetic. The bass sets up great as well and plays comfortably. The bass is perfect for both picked and finger style playing, with narrow spacing but still enough to fit fingers inbetween.
The bass loaded with EMG bass pickups in humbucker-shape housing. The original pickups and mounting rings are included in the case. One pickup is not functional and the other reads 9.74K Ohms. The bass includes its original croc-embossed hardshell case as well.
The finish is in great shape bus still shows some light wear, as expected for the age of the instrument. There is also what appears to be a Social Security number scratched into the neck plate.
