About This Listing

We are pleased to announce the arrival of a 1969 Les Paul Bass.

It was produced only for a short period of time from 1969 to 1971, after which the successor model "Les Paul Triumph Bass" was introduced.
Pancake construction mahogany body, 3-piece mahogany neck and 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
It is equipped with low-impedance pickups that feature the same characteristics as the "Les Paul Personal" and "Les Paul Professional" models that were produced at the same time.

The controls are Volume, Treble, and Bass, and the tone selector changes the pickup's coil combination, allowing the selection of three different tones.
The phase switch can be set to "OUT" when the pickup selector is in the mix to enjoy phase-out tones.

Strap pins, switch knobs, Treble&Bass pots, and jack plate replacement.
Mute has been removed and is missing along with bridge cover.

There is a broken neck that has been repaired and the back of the head has been over-lacquered.
There are no sound clogging problems, but the frets are low and the above mentioned broken neck correction is included in this price.

Product Overview
While only labeled as "Les Paul Bass" in catalogs and shipment records, this instrument is colloquially referred to as the "Les Paul Recording Bass" due to its similarity to the Les Paul Recording Guitar of the time. It was soon replaced by the Les Paul Triumph Bass, offering a lightweight body, increased tone options, and a natural mahogany finish.
