This is a Jerry Jones Master Electric Sitar in black crackle finish. Crafted in the 2000s, this is the second incarnation with the skinnier headstock. It plays like a dream with low action and a comfortable neck. While the thirteen sympathetic/drone strings stand out visually, the main attraction is the Buzz bridge that supplies the famous whirring sound. It can take some trial and error setting it up to one's preference, but the electric sitar texture is addictive. Don't expect a simulated sitar. These guitars have their own unique tone that you won't be able to find elsewhere. Even played acoustically, this guitar sounds great. The sympathetic strings in theory resonate to accompany playing the main strings, but you will really only hear them if you strum them directly. I enjoy tuning them to a D7sus chord and playing them like a harp. The guitar is really clean with only a few scratches here and there including on the pickguard. Comes with the original deluxe case that also has some signs of wear.
The Jerry Jones sitar might not be for everyone. The Buzz bridge isn't an effect you can switch off when you want to return to conventional playing, but there's a reason it is heard on many classic tracks in popular music even today. There's just something inspiring about the sound, and this Jerry Jones is perhaps the highest quality electric sitar you'll ever encounter. Feel free to message me with any questions. I do not offer returns.
