Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a unique and older 1960's era Astatic JT-30 model crystal microphone made in Conneaut, Ohio and it comes complete with the 10 foot cable shown which allows this mic to operate. This particular model still has the later resin applied badge. It should be noted right away that this mic comes with an original crystal element which is only rated at 30% signal. It can be used but it's not suitable for any live performance or recording. Generally these mics are non-working with a dead element so this one has defied the odds really. The mic and cable are properly wired however so if you replace the element with a good working crystal unit or Shure C.M or C.R element...you'll have an excellent working mic.

Pic # 2 shows this very model in an old Astatic 1950's era mic advertisement. Astatic built this particular mic for about 20 years starting in the early 1950's.

This JT-30 mic was originally intended for home recording and general broadcasting purposes but again, happens to make a fantastic harp mic these days due to it's lite weight and smaller size. Easy to grip and cup in the hand. It's about the size of a tangerine.

The all metal body with original painted finish shows virtually no wear and it's free of any dents, corrosion or engravings. They don't come much nicer than this. The front chrome grill looks very nice with zero dents, odors or tarnish and the inner cloth screen is free of any rips or holes. Mic has all original screws. I would give it a very conservative 9 on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking.

This mic comes with the vintage 10 foot cable in which to operate. The cable is soft, pliable and has a standard male Switchcraft 1/4 inch end connector for use with most audio equipment.

This JT-30 will screw onto any desk or floor stand you might be using.

MICROPHONE STAND IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

If you need an older stand to go with the mic please just ask and I'll show you what I have available in my online store. Thank you.
