I bought this guitar as a collectible and investment. I only played it a couple of times briefly and have never taken it out of my house. The following is the description from the person I bought it from in 2018. The guitar has a few tiny very hard to see marks, but nothing that stands out. All of my photos were taken in my dining room using my I phone with no special effects or lighting.
Gibson Les Paul 1960 Jimmy Wallace by Tom Murphy for Jimmy Wallace. Jimmy Wallace is a famous Texas guitar player and shop owner. He is the one who created the Heritage collection in the 1980"s I do not know how many were made in 1992, but not many, and to my knowledge 1992 was the only year they were made.
These guitars are the best of the best, finest maple tops and hand picked dry Mahogany backs. This makes for some of the lightest Les Pauls ever made by Gibson that are not chambered. Inside the bridge pick up it is signed by Tom Murphy and Jimmy Wallace underneath the lacquer. It is also signed by Jimmy Wallace on the back of the head stock. These guitars are far superior to the Historic Collection, the only guitars that are comparable are the guitars made by Tom Murphy.
I purchased this guitar in 1998 from The Burst Brothers at Guitar Center in Hollywood. Drew had been looking for this guitar for me for several years in a 1960 neck version. That was back before Bane Capital purchased Guitar Center. I barely play this guitar, it was purchased as a collectible. I had it set up by the Guitar Dr. in Orange County California and the action is super low, and the neck is as straight as an arrow.
