This guitar was a showpiece at the 2023 Artisan Guitar Show in Harrisburg, PA this past April and is perfect for any jam, recording session, stage or home.
The Bourgeois D Country Boy Heirloom Series is a classic appointed bluegrass dreadnought with all the guts and vintage vibe you are looking for. Rightfully named by Ricky Skaggs as a guitar that has all you need, this Aged Tone Adirondack Spruce and Sinker Mahogany D Country Boy features upgraded custom Brazilian Rosewood bindings and headstock overlay and the full Aged Tone Package driving this dreadnought consisting of the Aged Tone torrefied Adirondack Spruce top, Bourgeois’ proprietary Aged Tone thin gloss finish as well as Aged Tone torrefied Adirondack Spruce bracing and Animal Protein (AP) glue construction under the hood.
If you like old growth wood with a story, Sinker Mahogany is for you. Sunken in the rivers of Central America for well over a century, these premium logs were lost to the elements and rugged terrain. The only way to get logs out from deep in the jungle to the shipping vessels was to float them down rivers. Occasionally an old growth log got stuck or sank and got buried in the mud. Some became a time capsule of tone wood, did not rot, and aged over the centuries before they could be rescued by modern means. This wood has the old bone sound, serious vintage wood in a new build.
Other features include Ebony fretboard and bridge, custom traditional long saddle, 1930’s style ring rosette, Nickel Waverly tuners, Brazilian Rosewood heelcap, Pearl vintage style dots, 1 23/32″ nut width and satin finish Mahogany neck all bring out that pre-war look and tone.
