Great guitar. Plays perfectly - so easily. Set up is spot on. One of the easiest guitars to play - set up is perfect. And loads of reward in the sound/tone.

I see 1 crack behind high e string. Must look for the other crack fellow on delcamp saw. Pro luthier Darren Hippner had this guitar recently - he thinks it's Honduran rosewood and not cocobolo - as he says it looks a little more salmon colored and a little less red. Nonetheless read the delcamp review - thunderous basses and great sound all around - I agree. Also I note how it responds to a very light touch. I list it as 'very good' condition as the set up and action and playability really are exceptionally excellent; though there is certainly quite a lot of wear in the finish and scuffs on the top - all signs the guitar has been played a lot because it really is an excellent guitar.

a note from this genius mr john dick to brother darren hippner who had this guitar in his possession.

Dear Darren,
Sorry it took so long to reply. The top is actually redwood from Alicia Carter. The infamous LS (Lucky Strike) log off the 101 highway in the redwood forest. At one time she sold 400 sets of it to Taylor Guitar. It was a windfall. The bracing is Hernandez y Aguado asymmetrical bracing ala the head stock. The back and sides are Honduras rosewood I got from a local exotic wood supplier, who unfortunately closed his doors last year. It was from a log purchased in Belize and resawn by Martin Guitar Company. I think they bought about 5 logs. That is probably 40 yrs old by now. The finish is a violin varnish I made from terpene resin. The resin cooked down from fat oil of turpentine to a brittle resin and cooked with raw linseed oil to pearl consistency. Michaelman's rosinate made with Aluminum Potassium Sulphate was added. It took ultraviolet light to polymerize it. I then French polished over it. I had the guitar in my shop a couple of years ago and touched it up/ Joe Ehrenpreis owned it at the time. Originally it was sold through Richard Brune.
Sincerely,
John
