This is just a wonderful custom 7 string from second generation luthier Alejandro Cervantes.
This is a lattice braced guitar and has really good volume and excellent clarity.
If you are in a duo or quartet this is a great addition as you have that extra low string that can make the music more dynamic. If you are playing solo you can play Bach and Weiss with the correct low bass notes.
This is a heavy guitar at 2662 grams due to the wide neck and lined inside but it projects really well and the sound port enhances the players perspective. It also features a slight fretbord radius for easier barre chords due to the wider neck.
Here are the specs:
Scale length: 650 mm
Elevated fretboard
Sound port with lute rosette
Nut width: 60 mm
String spacing@ nut 51.5 mm
String spacing @ bridge 71 mm
Sitka spruce top
Cocobolo back and sides lined with cypress
intonated nut and saddle
truss rod
weight:
I just don't have the time to master the extra string. It is wonderful fun though.
