Del Vecchio Dinâmico 1950’s - Natural

Heres a beautiful 1950’s Resonator Del Vecchio Dinamico guitar.

Body: Rosewood

Fretboard: Rosewood

Neck: Cedar

Scale length: 64 cm

Nut width: 5,0 cm

String height: 3mm

Dinamico guitars were introduced in 1930 by Mr. Angelo Del Vecchio in São Paulo downtown. These guitars were present in Carmem Miranda movies in 1939/early 1940’s (specially the tenor version played by Mr. Aníbal Augusto Sardinha well known as “Garoto”, but became more famous in the 50’s when Los Indios Tabajara Duo used it in performances in US, then they presented to Mr. Guitar Chet Atkins that loved and had many many others. Other great guitar players have/had this one in their personal collection: BB King, Eric Johnson, Mark Knopfler, Andy Summers, John Knowles, Craig Dobbins, Tommy Emmanuel, etc.

These guitars can be played using steel strings, nylon strings or a combination if you want to “Chet” your Dinamico using the following recipe:

010 and .012 plain 1st and 2nd; light gauge silk and steel 3rd and 4th ; and heavy silver wound nylon 5th and 6th. If your saddle is compensated, you can use a plain .016 or .017 3rd string. You can also use a light gauge silk and steel set with good results.
