• The pickups in the early Casino models had a resistance ranging from 7.2 to 8.6 kOhm. However, the current Chinese production models have 12 kOhm, which is a significant deviation from the original values. The new pickups have a much higher output, making it harder to achieve clean and crunch tones. More powerful pickups also have a greater tendency to microphonic, which in a hollowbody instrument like the Casino makes things even worse
• The manufacturer used brass pickup covers, which significantly degrade the sound quality. The pickups lack harmonics, sound muddy, and lack character.
• The Dogear pickup design makes it impossible to achieve proper balance between the pickups. The neck pickup sounds too dark, while the bridge pickup lacks power.
