Rare Amperex Holland Medical Grade 12AX7 ECC83 1966

This is probably the rarest of the Amperex Holland line of 12AX7 vacuum tubes: the medical grade "Electronics For Medicine" 12AX7. This tube was made in the Heerlen, Holland Philips/Amperex factory that made the Bugle Boy tubes. However, these tubes received extensive aftermarket screening for low noise and low microphonics, plus uniform output from each triode. They were used in EKG and ECG machines, and tube noise could not be allowed as it would invalidate the test results. In music amplification, these tubes sound superb. The music emerges out of a black background of silence, and the sonics are three dimensional. It will outperform about every other 12AX7 ever made! Beautiful break up when used in the V1 position in guitar amps, with a sweet tone that has to be heard to be believed.  This tests as unused at 87-97 on our military Hickok USM118B tester where 50 is minimum good.  We have a limited number of these available here at discount from our web page price.
