1996 Rickenbacker 325V59 Capri Mapleglo Vintage Reissue John Lennon w/ Case
Up for sale, a 1996 Rickenbacker 325V59 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This rare and discontinued Rickenbacker model is a faithful reissue of the 325 Capri, outfitted with a factory-installed Bigsby B5 vibrato in the same fashion as the 325 played by John Lennon. A short scale Rickenbacker model that truly captures the classic jangle and percussive rhythm familiar to any Beatles fan, this instrument is lightweight at only 7lbs 5oz with a semi-hollow maple body. The trio of original Toaster Top single coils have a sweet, cutting sound with the added warmth of the Capri body depth and construction, offering bell-like trebles and taut, snappy wound strings. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Rickenbacker is dialed in with 10-46 roundwound strings, optimal intonation, and low action.
The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with moderate shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .860" deep at the 1st fret and .890" at the 12th. The original slender frets have well rounded crowns, showing virtually no wear. The scale length is 21" as per factory spec for this short scale model, making it easy to execute chord extensions and navigate the fretboard quite speedily. The nut width measures 1.650". On the headstock, the Ric Deluxe Kluson-style tuning machines hold pitch well and turn smoothly, and the headstock face is complete with the gold lucite Rickenbacker truss rod cover.
