This beautifully designed mandolin is made from a lightweight, resonant mahogany body with a spruce top for rich high-end and midrange tone. A gorgeous black walnut fingerboard provides incredible playability and response as well — great for exploring those sometimes tricky mandolin chord forms up and down the neck. In addition, a piezo pickup with individual volume and tone controls delivers stellar amplified mandolin tone when you plug in.
Artistic design
Luna was co-founded by Yvonne de Villiers, an accomplished stained-glass artist who wanted to design instruments that captured a unique artistic vision as well as great playability. The Luna Moonbird F-Style Mandolin is representative of that vision. It features Luna's mother-of-pearl moon phase fingerboard markers, chrome volume and tone knobs, a black walnut bridge, and Luna's Moonbird truss cover on the headstock.
