Works as is should. The MIDI expander is great, it's a quick way to turn Edges into a proper 4-voice module. I made the MIDI expander PCBs and face plate myself, so I guess it's somewhat unique. Power cable and cable to connect the expander will be included. There's a jumper cable on the Edges board itself (pictured), kind of peeking out slightly on the back, don't remove that.
Some pertinent information for configuring the MIDI expander (taken from Michigan Synthworks' page):
MIDI Learn: Press this button and send a midi note. The device will use that channel as the base channel
MIDI Mode: This button cycles between two operational modes.
1. 4 single voices trigger on 4 midi channels starting on the base MIDI channel (i.e. base channel is channel 2 so the voices are mapped over channels 2, 3, 4, 5)
2. Simple Poly mode where each voice plays on a different note on the same midi channel
Note about MIDI and Gating: The gate is normalled OPEN by the Gate 1 input. This is by design but will also force the gate open when the device is triggered by midi. Placing a dummy jack will break the open normal the gate will trigger via MIDI normally
