1930 ALCOA 3/4 upright bass for sale, made in the old Buffalo USA skunkworks shop. This bass bridges the gap between art and function, with a full custom restoration by James Condino, the man in the country for vintage ALCOAs. All the photos are just the bass and the graffiti park with no re-touching or digital manipulation. It originally started out as a factory brown painted 1930, we gave it a laborious detailed professional strip and polish, full neck checkout and rebuild complete with carbon fiber inserts, new full custom Macassar ebony fingerboard and tailpiece cut from the same continuous board complete with bloodwood accents throughout, and new custom Condino carbon fiber hybrid bridge and oversized endpin, with an excellent setup; a true bass player's holy grail instrument.
They made approximately 500 of these basses from 1929-1934 and only a fraction of those are still in existence. We've seen and handled most of the restored ones in the country and this is possibly the finest one in existence. Head over to our website at kaybassrepair.com and the same on facebook, to learn more about these basses, our world famous restorations and custom work. Our basses are in the hands of some of the best professional players in the business touring the world.
We've got a good amount into the original purchase, the polishing, and restoration - approx. 160+ shop hours to get it this way. In addition to the listed price, trades and offers are highly encouraged. Vintage US guitars and basses- in particular a 1930 National Duolian in rough and well used condition, vintage Martin guitars, original '50s tweed and mid '60s blackface amps, 1965-66 Ampeg blue check amps- Gemini 1s and fliptops, '30s vintage archtop guitars, vintage mandolins and mandocellos, 1950s Chevys and 60s Fords, vintage Broncos and FJ landcruisers, Industry 9 mountain bike 29er wheelsets, and always vintage basses.
