I have for sale here a 1998 Hamer Phantom. Overall, this guitar is in excellent condition. There are no nicks or dings on headstock or body edges or other places those things occur. There is very little pick scratch hazing. The paint is in excellent condition. The paint is thin enough and dry enough that you can see the grain of the body just a bit when you look at it carefully. There is no hameritus at the heal. There is almost no fret wear. I am not the original owner, but everything looks to be original with the exception of the pickguard - as I have two (not sure if they are both original?). Overall, the guitar is in excellent condition. 


There is one blemish that prevents this from being near mint. There is a hairline crack in the finish at the nut in the neck on both sides of the neck. I have shown this crack in the photos (in fact, it shows more in the photos than in person). I am very confident that this crack is in the finish and not into the neck wood. I have pulled on the neck with strings off and noticed no movement. My guess is that the neck was stressed, flexed, and cracked the paint but didn’t fracture the neck. Such cracks happen on bolt on necks at the heal often. But, no, I have not sanded back the paint to see and will not. 


Neck Geometry
Pretty full medium neck. Just a little bit more D then C as compared to my modern “vintage carve” Hamers. 
Width at nut - 1.67 in.
Width at 12th fret - 2.05 in. 
Thickness at 1st fret - .89 in. 
Thickness at 12th fret - .935 in. 


Weight 8.62 lbs. as measured by me on a digital spring scale. 


The guitar comes with two pickguards - the fancy pearloid one in the pics and and a checkered one also shown in the pictures, but not installed. It comes with an old Kramer case in good to fair shape. The tie to keep the top from flopping open has come unglued (so the top flops open). The latch at the base of the case is broken.
