The virtual analog sound generation features two oscillators with 71 waveforms, controlled via a clear user interface. The integrated vocoder invites inspiring vocal lines to be played via the keyboard. An arpeggiator with 6 types is not missing, of course!The sound generationThe microKORG (Crystal) features the same DSP synthesis as the MS2000B, but offers more waveforms. Oscillator 1 has 71 waveforms available, including classics and new forms such as Vox Wave and Cross Wave, which can of course be modulated. An additional 64 DWGS waveforms allow you to imitate electric pianos, guitars, basses and much more, which is difficult to replicate by analog. In conjunction with Oscillator 2, you can also use sync and ring modulation, making it possible to create stark metallic sounds. With the Virtual Patches additional modulation combinations can be created, so the microKORG also has a lot of possibilities to offer in terms of sound experiments.Filter, Amp & CoThe multimode filter of the Korg microKORG has a 12dB lowpass, highpass and bandpass filter and a 24dB LPF. The resonance is adjustable up to self-oscillation for all filter modes. In addition, two ADSR envelopes and two LFOs are available for the filter modes. In the amp section, a distortion function can be added in addition to volume and panorama. The classic ADSR envelope can be used as a modulation source and create rhythmic modulations with the two LFO types. Effects like vibrato, wah and tremolo are implemented smoothly.Happy Birthday!On the occasion of 20 years of market presence of the microKORG, Korg presents its modern classic in a new look. The case consists mostly of transparent plastic elements and brushed aluminum including the side panels.
