I have a gorgeous Carvin CT6 here. It has a highly figured flame maple top and a deep blue transparent finish known as nightburst.
I believe the frets are stainless on this one. They have no wear or no oxidation on them. This guitar plays like butter. It's very easy and effortless to play across the entire fretboard.
It's tone is muscular with great articulation. It has three tonewoods that comprise it's tone. A choice mahogany body and neck, which gives great midrange presence and warmth. This is counter balanced by the maple top and streakless ebony fretboard. Which the maple adds sustain and fatness, while ebony ads clarity and focus. So overall it does not lean towards being a bright or dark guitar. Its balanced. It's a refined, detailed classy tone.
This guitar has a few spots on it. Near the input jack there is some damage to the finish. One finish chip on the upper body edge and a similar sized on on the side of the headstock. The dings are on the edges of the guitar. This is a susceptible spot. There is also a slight bit of milking to the finish around the neck joint. That is under the finish that is a coloration issue not a structural one. The good news is the cosmetic issues are not easily seen and glaring. Also note that the neck back and top look very good and importantly the fretwork and setup is outstanding. The finish overall is very glossy and nice as you can see in the pics. It still looks great it just has dings that you have to scrutinize to find, this has been factored into the pricing.
I am a big fan of Carvin/Kiesel's and have several for sale and a few in my personal collection as well. I think they are the best guitar value in the world. This model here has a few upcharge features on it and would spec out to 1900-2000$ new. At that price point it's still a great value and head to head i like this guitar against pricier brands that make a similar Mahogany maple topped guitar like this.
This guitar will ship well packed, and fully insured.
Thank you for reading and considering.
