1967 Vox Apollo IV Bass in Very Good if not Remarkable Condition for a 56-Year-Old Electric Bass Guitar. It will Ship in a New Roadrunner Acoustic Bass Hardshell Case, (it fit the Bass the Best), To Keep It From Being Damaged During Shipment. The Broomstick Neck is 2" Wide and is 30" Scale. The neck has 2 small dings which are thru the finish but superficial, ( see pics.), It is a Very Playable, Comfortable Neck. The Body has a Beautiful 3 Tone Sunburst Finish which has some Finish Checking, most notably surrounding the output jack and on the back, (see Pics.). The Finish Overall is Gorgeous. I installed Dunlop Dual Design Strap lock Buttons, the button near the neck is mounted on the neckplate. The original buttons are in the case compartment. I had the pickguard cut by WD Music and I fabricated the part of the pickguard bracket which is not screwed onto the bass. The Original Pickup has been Rewound with 10,000 Winds of 42 Guage Enamel Wire producing 6.32k by Hoagland Custom. The original effects were ruined and have been replaced. The original distortion was replaced with an Artec Quadra Distortion Driver Unit which has 5 Positions 1) True Bypass, 2) Clean Boost, 3) Blues Overdrive, 4) Rock Distortion, 5) Heavy Metal. The Product Description will be in the case. The Original Treble/Bass Boost has been replaced with an Artec Band Control Unit which features a Push/Pull on/off sending the unit to True Bypass. When in the on position the knob functions as a tone expander. In the center, (knob at about 5), it is a Harmonic Boost which adds a lot of Sustain and Harmonic boost with a slight Mid-High Band Shift on the EQ. As the knob is turned down the Mid-Range is increased giving you enough "Chunk" to make a Single Coil Sound like a Humbucker. However, if the knob is turned in the opposite direction it Scoops the Mids like a "V" shaped EQ, the product description will be in the Case. The Bass requires one 9v battery to power both units. The on off switches are decorative only and serve no purpose other than that as the output jack serves as the battery power on/off and both the Quadra Distortion and the Band Control unit have true bypass settings. Other than Replacing the Effects, Having the Pickup Rewound, The New Pickguard & Bracket and the Strap lock Buttons the Bass is Original Complete and Sounds & Plays Great. The cost of the Case is included in its price and I insist on Shipping the Bass in it. This 56-Year-Old Sunburst Vox Apollo IV Bass is a Beauty and deserves to be protected.
