Description: We have been provided the following description: “Serial 1155. Replaced fingerboard, tuners, tailpiece, and pickguard. Refinished.” Based upon examination of the photos, the owner’s description appears to be correct. In other respects, the guitar conforms to the typical specifications of the model for the period in which it was made with spruce top with two bound f-holes, maple neck, back, and sides, multiple bindings on the top and back edges of the body, multiple bound peghead with D’Angelico and Excel logo inlays, bound elevated nitrocellulose tortoiseshell grain pickguard, and sunburst finish. The modifications to this instrument would reduce its collector’s item appeal, however, this is still a fine instrument suitable for professional use on stage or in the studio.
