Made up of luthier duo Nick Sugimoto and Tim Wilson, Sugi Guitars are built in the USA by two lifelong industry veterans.
Nick has been in the guitar building and design industry for over forty years. He has worked for brands such as Greco, Fujigen, Inc. and the Fender Custom Shop. He founded Sugi Musical Instruments in 2002
Tim has been working in the guitar industry for over 35 years. In the late 1970’s he was one of the original employees at Jackson / Charvel. In 1980 Tim built the original Randy Rhoads guitar prototype under the supervision of Randy Rhoads and Grover Jackson. Tim was also responsible for developing the popular Charvel Strat-style neck. Later on he would become plant manager for the Jackson Custom Shop in Ontario CA. When Fender acquired Jackson, Tim continued to be a valuable asset to the brand until his retirement from Fender in 2007.
With their combined experience Sugi is building some of the most inspiring original designs on the scene today. From their familiar feel, detailed finish work and range of unique electronic choices; these are guitars that will speak to both the vintage guitar connoisseur and modern instrument enthusiasts alike.
