About This Listing

This is a showroom-condition "Supernova II" or "Supernova 2" Pics are of the actual unit for sale (more coming soon). There may be some scuffs on the top/bottom from being in the rack but the face is near flawless. Let me know if you need me to take it out and get pics of the other sides (it might take me a day or two)

I'm assuming you know about the more common Supernova so below I'll help explain the difference between the I and II models (copied directly from the Novation website)

What is the difference between the Supernova I and II?

Both models are 8-part multitimbral and come preset with 512 programs and 256 performances but the Supernova II also has additional memory for a further 512 programs and 256 performances, ready to be filled with user sounds.

The Supernova II has these features not available on the Supernova I which make it more powerful than the original:

  • External input and vocoder
  • Finer control over unison mode (detune), oscillator drift (VCO emulation) and dual filter separation.
  • More tempo-synced parameters
  • Improved effects algorithms, particularly better chorus/phaser including ensemble, quad chorus and rotary speaker emulations
  • Oscillators have FM
  • LFO has 'slew' to round off lumpy LFO shapes
  • Comb filter that can be swept via an LFO (which can be tempo-synced)
  • Envelopes have loopable A/D stages and can be set to more complex shapes than just ADSR
  • Drum mode for playing sounds as 'one shot' types
  • Dedicated drum maps & drum sounds
