Boasting a trio of textured reverbs and a spacey delay section, the Keeley Parallax is a one-box solution for the guitarist seeking shoegaze-style shimmering soundscapes. This pedal’s three reverb types — Hall, Reverse, and Soft Focus — are heavily inspired by classic rack unit effects from the late '80s and early '90s, encompassing everything from angelic octave-up sparkle to cutting reverse reverb. While the Parallax is certainly capable of more traditional ‘verb tones, it’s a must-have pedal for guitarists seeking a more out-of-the-box take on stompbox echo. Next, a full-fledged delay section offers up to 650ms of repeat time to cover everything from a simple slapback to a cavernous echo, with built-in modulation to further tweak your tone. Top it all off with a handy selectable true bypass/trails mode, and the Keeley Parallax is a seriously elevated take on the shoegaze-in-a-box pedal.

A trio of atmospheric reverb tones

The Parallax’s reverb section functions completely independently of the delay side, providing you three different atmospheric echoes to play with:

Focus: This reverb is inspired by a legendary patch on a late ‘80s rack unit that was put to good use by shoegaze luminaries such as Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine. It’s a spacey, atmospheric sound that pairs beautifully with the Parallax’s delay section for shimmering walls of sound.

Reverse: Another shoegaze mainstay that originated from a rack unit, Reverse reverb produces a more textured sound than traditional reverb tones. It resides on the more experimental side of the sonic spectrum, with a built-in vibrato that mimics the gliding flutter of an offset-style whammy bar. If you’re looking for extra shoegaze flavour, place a fuzz or distortion pedal directly after the Parallax’s reverse reverb for Loveless-style buzzsaw guitar tones.

Hall: This pedal’s Hall setting is a more straight-ahead reverb that beautifully complements the all-out weirdness of the Soft Focus and Reverse settings. It’s a great choice for bog-standard reverb duties, but a built-in shimmer feature allows you to transform the Hall into a spiraling staircase of infinitely ascending ‘verb.

Up to 650ms of tape-style echo

Parallax’s delay section comes straight out of the venerable Keeley Caverns V2 pedal — a decidedly vintage-style flavor with plenty of tape unit attitude. Up to 650ms of delay are on tap, allowing for the Parallax to cover just about every standard delay application in the book, from rhythmic repeats to clanging slapback. If you really want to dive into the Parallax’s more ambient side, crank up the reverb section for beautiful pads that swell and sway with the delay’s built-in modulation settings.

Switchable True Bypass or "Trails" operation

A sweet and much-appreciated feature is when delay and reverb pedals offer "Trails" that allow the effect to decay naturally when you switch the pedal off (instead of cutting the effect completely), and the Keeley Parallax doesn't disappoint. With Trails engaged, the pedal uses a buffered bypass to maintain your signal quality and allows effects to decay after switching. If you prefer True Bypass switching, that mode is also available.

Keeley Parallax Reverb and Delay Pedal Features:

• Fully independent reverb and delay in a single stompbox
• A trio of wild reverb tones inspired by classic rack units from the late '80s and early '90s
• Full-fledged delay section from the Caverns V2, with up to 650ms of echo
• Built-in modulation to give your delay a moody flavour
• Switchable trails/true bypass function allow you to either instantly cut off delay repeats or allow them to fade out when disengaging the delay section
