Maple on mahogany – a staple of vintage construction
There’s something magical about mahogany topped with maple. The maple adds crispness and harmonic attack to the mahogany, but the lows and low mids of the mahogany are still apparent, giving you a thick, resonant tone. On the Johnny A. Standard hollowbody electric guitar, the resonance is intensified further, thanks to its hollowbody design. Maple and mahogany are a marriage made in tonewood heaven!
’57 Classic humbuckers deliver classic PAF-like tones
First introduced in 1990, Gibson’s vintage-style ’57 Classic humbuckers are designed to give you warm, full tone with balanced response and plenty of classic Gibson vibe. Built to the specs of Gibson’s original “Patent Applied For” pickups, including Alnico II magnets, nickel-plated pole pieces, nickel slugs, maple spacers, and vintage-style, two-conductor braided wiring, ’57 Classic humbuckers will provide you with all of the vintage PAF-like humbucker crunch you can handle!
Custom-rounded neck profile offers comfortable playability
Round enough for you to play and thick enough to give you bucketfuls of sustain, you can’t help but fall in love with the comfort and playability of the Johnny A. Standard hollowbody electric guitar’s custom-rounded neck profile. On top of that, its longer 25 1/2″ scale length gives you enough flexibility for alternate tunings or whatever else you want to experiment with.
