This is a very early Vintage VSA535CR without the offset horns you see on the newer models. It‘s one of the first run of the 535’s and you can tell by the much larger “Vintage“ mother of pearl inlay and the torch in the center of the headstock. They were part of a lawsuit from Gibson so the offset of the horns was added in later models. The quality of these early versions far surpassed that of the recent ones both in finish and playability. This guitar is a player‘s guitar. No nonsense just great tone and resonance.
I have upgraded virtually every part of this guitar. All the old chrome hardware has been replaced by nickel plated Kluson tuners and stop tail, and a nickel plated Epiphone ABR-1. Professionally replaced plastic nut with bone nut. Was also professionally set up. I replaced the stock humbuckers with Righteous Sound RAF 2’s (unpotted). These are the best humbuckers I’ve played to date. They are bright and full and super touch responsive. They do a great job of accentuating the semi-hollow “335” body sound. This is a great guitar for the money and will make a great addition for anyone! I am selling the guitar with a PROrockGear 335 hard case. Thanks for checking it out!
