This Tulip #452 is brand new, built in 2023.The body is hollow construction with a full block under the bridge, not really a semi-hollow construction as there is a full open chamber under the pickups that goes from side to side. The top and back are figured African mahogany with a white fir frame, all finished with Danish oil.
The neck is my typical 3-piece construction with a maple back, scarfed cherry head and maple fretboard with a dual action trussrod. The scale is 25-1/2”, 12” radius with a 1-11/16” Delrin nut, 24 Jescar 47104 frets and Hipshot locking tuners. The carve is a medium C, the action is low and easy, it is a great feeling neck.
The neck pickup is my handwound Type2HB, a stacked humbucker that fits in a strat size hole, it is warm and with a full range from lows to highs that sounds like a very quiet single coil- it is clean and chimey.
The compensated aluminum blade bridge is height adjustable and incorporates a passive piezo that can be activated with the push / pull volume pot.
This is a beautiful and fantastic playing / sounding instrument of superior quality.
