About This Listing

Vintage MEMPHIS Stratocaster Clone, Electric Guitar

Memphis was a house brand manufactured by Matsumoku Industrial of Nagoya, Japan. Later, original designs were built by Yamaki [which also built guitars under its own Daion brand, as well as for Washburn and other guitar companies

"Memphis"-branded guitars were imported from Asia and distributed in the United States by C. Bruno and Sons from 1969 until November 1989. The product line included Fender- and Gibson-styled instruments as well as some original designs such as the MG-100 and MG-300.

This guitar has a standard Stratocaster layout: 3 single coil pickups, synchronized tremolo bridge, 1 volume and 2 tone controls, and 5 way switch to adjust pickup configuration. Some dings and dents (touched up with paint) and scrapes and scratches consistent with a 40 year old well used vintage instrument.

All of my guitars have been fully tested and are functional. All of my guitars have been “set up” (neck straightness optimized, fingerboard oil treated (if rosewood/laurel/ebony), action set as low as possible, pickup height optimized, intonation checked) all to MY PERSONAL PREFERENCES. (Please note: “setups” are not “one size fits all”. Your personal set up requirements might be different from mine, so, additional adjustments may be needed to suit your setup preferences). Per Reverb.com requirements to protect the guitar from damage during shipping, the string tension will be relieved before shipment. You'll need to tune the guitar to pitch when it arrives. Let the instrument acclimate to your environment! Differences in altitude, temperature, and humidity from my shop to your location have an effect on the instrument. Additionally, vibrations caused during days in a truck being shipped to you might loosen screws and bolts! This is a perfectly NORMAL occurrence during shipping! It doesn’t mean your instrument is DAMAGED! Because of all these factors, you will NOT be able to pull this instrument out of the shipping box and start playing it! Also, for optimal sound and playing ease, I advise buyers to put a new set of strings on the guitar, the string brand and gauge of their preference. If your guitar has a Tremolo Bridge DO NOT OVERTIGHT TREMOLO ARM WHEN YOU INSTALL THE ARM!!! YOU CAN DESTROY THE TREMOLO ARM BLOCK!!! I suggest you watch some YouTube videos about installing and using Tremolo Arms BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO INSTALL AND USE A Tremolo Arm.
