This is pretty much the best 12 string there is, I can't imagine it getting any better than this!

The store I grew up working at was huge into old Guild 12 strings, and with the recent work this one had it totally outshines all the best ones I ever saw hanging on the wall. This one just had a super pro refret, and the intonation is perfect. It is a tremendous musical instrument, so much tone and power and lush beauty. It plays like an angel and it just sounds amazing. The action is low and comfortable, it's still a formidable 12 string any which way you slice it, but it feels really comfortable and beautiful all the way through. Every chord, note, position, sound, everything about it is just so full of music!

I've been a longtime Guild player, and I love them. I love just about every pre-fender (sorry fender) era that they've had, but the best of the best for me have been the ones from the Hoboken, NJ era. The Rhode Island ones are great and the very early New York ones when they're in playable condition are extra great, but the NJ ones to me are particularly phenomenal. The original Guild factory was made up of the the original Epiphone employees who wanted to stay in New York when Gibson bought Epiphone and moved them to Kalamazoo. They were a lot of first and second generation Italian Americans, some of the older ones of which trained in Cremona, Italy as violin makers. They know how to make a guitar last hundreds of years like a Stradivarius violin which is absolutely no joke, the original Guilds were meant to last. They're very heavily built guitars, and have the huge and robust feel to match. The new Guilds that Fender has made in China, they're great for what they are and there's things to appreciate about them, but they don't belong in the same arena as these original ones. This Guild is the Godfather shot on 35mm and the new ones are a ripoff Marvel movie shot on a greenscreen and edited on a iphone. They are not the same.

This one has been played, but with the recent refret it is so healthy and fantastic and the odometer is set to zero. It also had a top crack repaired and some bracing work, the top is flat and is a huge sounding board for all the beautiful tone. The bridge was replaced (the original is included), and my luthier (this is work that I can't do yet) did such a killer job making a new bridge by hand. This luthier is the one I give the good stuff to! There was a hairline crack at the sound hole that was repaired as well. There's some good height on the saddle to take it down in the future, it has some solid time ahead of it before it will need any more work.

It comes with the original Guild case and case candy which is an absolute miracle! I love seeing when guitars have made it through their whole lives still paired with the accessories that they left the factory with. The case matches the spirit of the guitar, they are a single unit. Message me for a video of it. I can't say enough good things about this one, it's amazing!
