Up for sale is my G&L Tribute JB-2 bass. It's a stock 2020’s Tribute JB2, with a headstock I modified as well as some G&L USA Ultralite tuners. The point here was basically a proof of concept for myself - I wanted to shift the weight balance back towards the body to alleviate neck dive (and change the headstock aesthetic away from the G&L profile which I unfortunately don't love).

Weighs in right around 8 lbs, 3 oz - a multiple ounce savings over stock configuration (and yes, it does balance better!).

Please note that while I've set this bass up already, I will verify neck relief, string height, and intonation prior to shipping and make any needed adjustments for a relatively neutral, but "good", setup. Also note that I'm in the Northeast where we're experiencing cold and dry conditions - the neck may settle a bit differently in your climate.

The Good
- Works and plays very well
- Passive electronics working and adjusting well
- Bridge, tuners, neck, etc. all adjust perfectly
- Setup with low-medium action across the strings; neck relief, pickup height, and bridge intonation set.
- Very nice overall condition with only a few cosmetic defects

The Bad or The Ugly
- Some light signs of use on the body, particularly the backside. The control cavity cover has some marks but still has the factory protective plastic on it. There's a nick in the finish by the neck screws. The front of the body is near-mint.

- The bridge mounting screws are a little bit rusty.

- Because of the homebrewed nature of the headstock and the fact that I was looking to make it 'playable' rather than 'perfect', it's not what I'd consider cosmetically 100%. There's some marks and a ding or two. You can see where I filled the stock string tree mounting hole. Two screws holding the previous tuners on snapped at the head, requiring extraction -the extraction area with a cleanly drilled hole and plugged that with hardwood dowel of the appropriate size & Titebond (and is hidden by the tuners). I put only a couple light coats of polyurethane on it in case either myself or a future owner wanted to take the finishing a setup further. None of this at all impacts playability, but I did want to stress the homemade nature of what you might be buying!
