This listing is for a used Soldano Avenger custom prototype amp that was built by Soldano for Prince's guitarist. Prince had requested an amp with a lot of clean headroom that could be used as a pedal platform. Soldano built eight of these amps for him. 4 were built for Prince, and 4 were built for his guitarist, Donna Grantis.
This amp sounds nothing at all like a typical Avenger. It has a very clean tone, with no distortion whatsoever. The clean sound is closer to the Lucky 13 than to any other Soldano amp I've owned. It's a great sounding amp, and as designed, it excels when being used as a pedal platform.
These amps can be seen on stage during Prince's performances from 2014 on, including his most recent performance from Saturday Night Live. I bought a couple of them-I'm not a collector and I fully intend to play through them, but I don't need two identical amps so I am selling one of them here.
This amp is in excellent cosmetic condition, and works perfectly. It is the amp with black knobs in the photos. Proof of it's authenticity can be provided upon request. This amp will be shipped via UPS. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask.
