1950s Slivertone 1396 Amp Project
Howdy. Up for sale is a 1950s Silvertone 1396 amp in non-working condition.
Im looking for just one of Reverbs millions of hi quality buyers around the world to buy this amplifier. If that could be you keep reading.
This amp is intact but doesn’t work. It lights up but doesn’t make sound. This amp has an output section for each speaker. That means it has two output transformers . One output transformer has been replaced.
It looks ok inside. When you turn it on for a few minutes it starts to get hot near one of the outputs.
Please limit the questioning to those from “hi quality buyers only”. If you are looking for a free tutorial or pictures/measurements/diagrams/schematics/serial numbers for your project or to set up a lowball offer try someone else . However, I can provide this vintage gear information service for a fee billed at $100/hour. Payment in advance but refunded upon purchase.
These amps in functioning condition are $1500 now. This one can be easily repaired. I will give it a whirl in the near future. Buy now. When it is working the price is going up.
