PLAYER'S PERSPECTIVE

We're stoked to welcome Fibenare Guitars to our family of high-end and boutique guitar builders on hand! Fibenare was founded by a family of skilled luthiers from Kecskemét, Hungary. In 1990, the Benedek brothers faced the difficulty of acquiring quality guitars that Hungary was experiencing at the time. As a result, they were encouraged by their father to take up building their own, and the rest is history. Every component designed and produced in-house, these guitars are seriously incredible and are right up there with anything coming out of American custom shops.

Check out this gorgeous new Erotic Regime, an extremely distinct spin on the vintage three-single-coil platform. The body shape is extremely unique - it reminds us of the custom-made guitars that Prince often rocked on stage - and it's made even more eye catching by the stunning Burgundi Mist finish. The sleek black pickguard and matching headstock is a classy touch, the latter a fairly unusual feature for a three-single-coil bolt-on guitar, and the whole package looks awesome together with the palisander fretboard.

This beautiful instrument isn't all looks, though - it plays and sounds fantastic as well. The neck profile is both familiar and a sheer joy to play on, and the fretwork is impeccable, as you'd expect from a handmade boutique builder of this caliber. They've absolutely nailed the classic S-type tones with the custom hand-wound pickup set, and the control layout is pretty unique - the 3-way trick switch lets you add the neck pickup in combinations with the middle and bridge as well as play with out of phase options. This guitar is downright killer, and not something you see everyday.

Details

For the 20th anniversary of the wall coming down in Berlin in 1989, Fibenare presents a series of its Erotic model called Regime. In the age of the Regime (from the 2nd world war to the late 80s) in East-Europe, musicians only dreamed of having a guitar from the other side of the iron-curtain. These were typically a Strat, a Les Paul or a Tele. These days, when the market is free, and people can get exactly what they need, we’d like to dress our Erotic model in an old-fashioned way, in order to merge our childhood dreams and the "regime reality” that we lived in. So let us introduce the Regime series, in the colors of the cars we had in this part of Europe with a symbol on the neckplate that everyone had known and most of us didn’t like.

“To me, music is all about being surprised by new sounds, new rhythms and artists who communicate their perception of the world in an universal language. With this idea in mind it’s important to have instruments following the same path, and …. YES … Fibenare is doing an amazing job on this. Those guys make great instruments and they can really consider themselves as artists of wood working!” - Sebastien Defontaine
