This listing is for a vintage 1967 Meazzi Hollywood Jupiter Tenore Bass VI-Baritone Electric Guitar. This guitar/bass was made in Italy in circa 1967. This model appears in the Meazzi catalog from 1967 under the name Jupiter Tenore and is the bass VI or Baritone model in the Jupiter series. The instrument is really cool but is being listed as a project for repair or restoration and is not currently in playable condition. Please look at the pictures and read the full description carefully and message with questions.
The instrument has a 30" scale length and is originally designed to be strung like a Bass VI one octave below a standard guitar. I have seen some people string these with a Baritone tuning but they were originally designed to be a Bass 6. I got this pretty much as it is now and was hoping to restore it but never got around to it. The guitar is missing some parts and will need a lot of work to get it working properly. The electronics are all a mess and currently there is no output from the pickups. The bass has this style of slider knob and the slider is broken. Someone appears to have added a few knobs and pots too. I really haven't investigated what is going on with the electronics very closely but you should assume you will have to do some significant electronic repair to get this going. The bridge is partly intact but is missing the saddles. The bass is missing the neck plate but does have the 4 neck screws holding the neck in place.  Lastly the bass is missing the 7th fret. I am not an expert on these but the remaining parts do appear at least mostly original. Because the instrument was missing the saddles and because of the missing fret I never strung this up and checked out the neck. At least without tension on the neck is appears to be back bowed and a little twisted. There is no way to know at this time how the neck will react under tension. The truss rod does turn and adjust the neck but again, without putting tension on the guitar it's hard to say how it will react. The bass shows some general play wear and nicks, dings and scratches. There is a larger paint chip on the back of the neck and some other finish blemishes around the instrument. The bass needs a lot of work but could be a really cool and rare guitar once it's been restored. The bass comes with a non original hard shell case and will be expertly packed for safe shipping. Please look at the pictures and message with questions. Because this bass guitar is missing parts and is not a complete guitar I am selling it AS-IS with no returns or refunds. Please message with questions and we'll do out best to answer them. Thanks for looking,
