About This Listing

Classic guitar, classic colour, great player and a real investment. I love the way the translucent red has worn in places to show the metallic gold that lies beneath. This guitar has been played and loved, like all the best vintage guitars.
The only weak point on these fenders, as anyone familiar with the Jaguar can tell you, is the awful bridge design, so I’m including a brand new Mastery Bridge.. which is literally a drop in and string up affair that has nothing but glowing reports.. just don’t lose the original !

The case it comes in is a modern fender one specifically for an offset guitar and it’s set up ready to go. Please take a good look at the pictures and contact me if you have any questions..

Product Overview
The Fender Jaguar was introduced as a high-end model guitar four years after the Jazzmaster. Though similar to the Jazzmaster in its offset body and lead/rhythem circuits controls, the Jaguar differed in two key ways. For one, the Jaguar used a shorter 24-inch scale length compared to the 25 1/2-inch of most Fender guitars. Additionally, the Jaguar used two thinner single-coil pickups compared to the feedback-prone soapbox pickups of the Jazzmaster. The Jaguar was not as popular as the Telecaster or Strat in its initial run, but has found some popularity with punk, grunge and indie rockers since.

Years of Production:
 1962 - 1974

Unique to this Year: By 1966, Fender adds white binding to the fretboard of the Jaguar. Tuners also change to F-style tuners.

Body Style: Offset solidbody

Wood Composition: Alder body, Maple neck with veneer Rosewood fingerboard

Design Elements: Bolt-on neck, dot inlays, 2 single-coil pickups with notched side-plates, individual pickup selectors, 24-inch scale length, treble and bass roll knobs, floating tremolo system, lead/rhythm circuit switch

Finish Specifications: Sunburst is the most common finish for vintage Jaguars.

Notable Players:  Kurt Cobain, Johnny Marr, Carl Wilson
