Up for sale, a 2007 Fender Jaguar Order Made model JG66 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A non-catalog custom-ordered model, this Jaguar features factory-installed Wide Range humbuckers.
Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, ensuring a balanced, clear acoustic voice that translates well through the upgraded Wide Range humbuckers. The pickups have great clarity for strummed passages and sparkling lead lines; fat and full-sounding while retaining a distinctive top end character unique to the Wide Range design. Engage the Rhythm Circuit for even darker, meatier tones (great for use with fuzz pedals) or click on the "strangle" switch in the Lead Circuit for thinner sounds that retain the humbucker's percussive quality and sonic heft. The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with well-rounded shoulders in every register and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and .935" at the 12th. The 22 fret rosewood fretboard has a 7 1/4" vintage-spec radius and slender fretwire that's notably clean, showing only light wear on the crowns of frets 1-4. This guitar plays cleanly up the 24” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 5/8“ in width, and the headstock has Gotoh-made, Kluson-style tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The "Made in Japan" text and U-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate, and the neck pocket retains the factory stamps and date, marking production on 12/23/07.
All of the electronics function as intended, with individual on/off switches for each pickup on the Lead Circuit, in addition to the bass cut (or "strangle switch") on/off toggle and Master Volume and Tone knobs, with brand-new USA-made CTS 1 Meg pots. The Rhythm Circuit has its own pair of Volume and Tone wheels in addition to the on/off toggle switch that engages this circuit, which adds a darker tone cap exclusively for use on the neck pickup. The pickup cavities are factory routed to accommodate the Wide Range humbuckers, with factory shielding paint to ensure the lowest possible noise floor. The vibrato unit is very responsive, actuating smoothly for surfy warbles and dives, working in concert with the original bridge with spiral saddles. The chrome-plated hardware is positively gleaming, and plastics include the pair of knobs and a Fender Japan brown tortoise pickguard, custom-made for this model with the correct mounting for the Wide Range pickups.
Cosmetic wear on the gloss Sunburst finish is limited to just a scant few tiny marks on the body as a whole and a few light scratches on the back that fall short of “buckle rash." The smooth ambered gloss on the neck finish is flawless.
