Vega Tenor Banjo and Case, 1920s

UPDATED LISTING with video (thank you Reverb banjo experts for your help!)

Great sounding 1920s Vega tenor banjo (click on the video link to hear it) with original animal skin head. The stamp on the dowel is is well worn, could be a Style I or Style F. Pics of banjos in that style and the serial number put it solidly in that category and circa 1922 (per 4stringsbanjos.com site under the heading Fairbanks-Vega serial numbers).

Some things are not original on this banjo. You can see the Martin pegs in the picture and the neck needs at least one dot (I have all the dots and a Vega star for the headstock that you can put in, see pics). The case is taped up, but usable.

I initially contacted/sent pictures of the banjo to a Vega banjo luthier/expert online (Vinnie Model, 4stringbanjos.com) and these were his thoughts:

"Id say retail in that shape and a good orig case, 900.00-1200.00I usually pay 5-700 wholesale and the labor/parts to freshen them up and try for 700-900 or so off of a 1200 retail."

Because there is some work involved, I am dropping this to $250. Love it, just don't play it anymore. Give it a loving home!

P.S. Shipping estimator puts this at $50 in the continental US. I have discounted it 10% to $45 and am willing to negotiate actual cost if lower to help you out :)
