Onamac Windery Firebird Vintage

Onamac Windery's "Firebird Vintage" mini humbuckers.

There's nothing mini about these. They sound full and powerful yet retain the exceptional clarity and harmonics Onamac Windery custom wound coils are known for.

In original Firebird pickups small internal steel reflector plates have much to do with how the pickup functions. One plate covers the bottom of the bobbins connecting the two bar magnets creating a larger more powerful magnetic field. A second smaller strip is on top of the bobbins located below the "B" string also connecting the two magnets creating a more powerful magnetic field in the treble string area contributing to the signature "bite" Firebird's are known for.

Apparently considered unimportant the reflector plates are left out of many modern Firebird pickups. Also absent are the alnico bar magnets. Replaced by ceramic magnets. The result is an unpleasant sterile sound.

Like Onamac Windery Top Shelf humbuckers our Firebird pickups are made with all the good stuff; our own custom formulated alnico 5 (neck) and alnico 2 (bridge) bar magnets, un-potted 42awg plain enamel coils, hard maple wood spacers, custom made steel reflector plates, nickel silver base plates and covers in your choice of raw nickel silver, shiny nickel plated, chrome plated or gold plated ($30 additional). Aging also available at additional cost.
