Ok, this horn is NUTS! Obviously built by someone on a mission, this horn is a quite surprising, awesome player.
]As the photos show, it has been put together from various parts. Includes an Edwards 307 bell, which is an 8.5 inch 22 gauge heat treated soldered rim red brass bell, and an original O.E. Thayer valve. Slide is a unique reversed design where the upper outer slide and the lower inner slide both move. Slide is .525 bore, and combined with the bell, results in a brilliant and responsive middle and high register. Though it is .525 bore, it has a large shank receiver. Trigger register is nothing to write home about but is ok. The bell has a lot of designs soldered onto it - these are not patches, but metal that has been added. Someone obviously put a lot of work into this and while a weird instrument, it is a LOT of fun!
