As with a lot of Epiphone archtop models of this era, the Zenith went through a few body size / wood combination changes. This 1949 model, made by Epiphone while they were still in their New York factory, before the Gibson takeover, has a 16 3/8” body , one of the best looking Brazilian Rosewood fingerboards I’ve seen. The tone and projection of the guitar are very impressive, bright and airy, with particularly strong strong mids, and is voiced beautifully for blues, jazz and swing. It has a very comfortable neck with good action, making it a very enjoyable playing experience. It’s in very good condition, , comes in a non original hard case.
