Lots of interest, but no buyers yet, so I am rethinking. I play it every day and like it better all the time. Although the standard electronics sound fine, I am offering to install Seymour Duncan or comparable pickups and CTS pots to the buyer.
The 8th guitar from my custom shop is made from a plank of old-growth redwood from the southern border region of Oregon. I came upon the plank in an old shed where the logger who cut it from the forest brought it north. This wood came alive as I shaped the plank into a sensuous no-sharp-edges body. It carved easily as if its spirit was ready to make music. I was even able to make a matching headstock piece from redwood. Several of the age cracks remain along with swirling smooth patterns to give this instrument so much character. The tone is resonantly dark like walking among coastal redwoods on a misty day. It is finished with French polishing technique and has ten coats of handrubbed tung oil. I added a maple C-shaped neck and subtle rosewood fretboard and set it up with smooth action and accurate intonation. Matched with responsive single coil pickups and a 5-way switch, this guitar moves smoothly from Clapton-like grit to Brad Paisley twang to the warmest jazz sounds. I am reluctant to part with it, but would for a reasonable price. As always, this is listed with "make an offer" option, so. . . I will pay shipping and offer a full refund if necessary (minus $60 shipping and you pay return shipping) if returned in original condition. If you miss this one, contact me for a custom build.
